California Adopts CALGREEN: First Statewide Green Building Codes...
Extra Extra. Read all about it. 30% more energy efficiency is what the new building code demands. Based on a collaboration of AIA, NBI and DOE California is requiring a new standard of building set to begin next January. By adopting this code this will make building green more cost efficient by eliminating third party fees associated with private green building standards. CALGREEN will also allow cities like San Francisco to retain their strict green standards, by allowing each local jurisdiction to retain their own strict standards.
